Second Week of Advent

Thomas Merton

A project of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales,

DeSales Service Works welcomes volunteers to join

in service, prayer, and learning in our struggling neighborhood.

I just want to remind everyone and encourge us all to take time at noon today to pray with the whole Church fo an end to hunger.

Pope Francis’ Wave of Prayer today – December 10:

Here is a selection from the Catholic Relief Services’ website about this effort:

At noon local time, a global wave of prayer will begin on the island of Samoa and will progress around the world until it reaches the same island some 24 hours and more than 164 countries later.  Please join us wherever you are by reciting this prayer at noon your local time, and please invite others to join you. Please let us know that you will be participating by filling out and submitting this RSVP.  Post pictures of you and your community praying for an end to world hunger at the Caritas Internationalis Global Hunger Campaign Facebook page on December 10th. You can help us spread the word about the event by sharing the link to this page—http://crs.org/food-for-all/—along with the hashtag #Food4All on Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites.

God Bless You,

Fr. Mike McCue, OSFS
